FOUNDING ORGANIZATION - KAUFFMAN FOUNDATION
The Angel Resource was founded by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in 2005 (originally as the Angel Capital Education Foundation) and spun out as an independent charitable organization in 2007. ARI is pleased to continue its relationship with the Kauffman Foundation and to distribute the "Power of Angel Investing" education series owned and developed by the Kauffman Foundation.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation was established in the mid-1960s by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Marion Kauffman. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the Kauffman Foundation is among the thirty largest foundations in the United States with an asset base of approximately $2 billion.
The Kauffman Foundation's vision is to foster a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, contributing to the improvement of their communities. In service of this vision, and in keeping with our founders wishes, grant making and operations is focused on on two areas: advancing entrepreneurship and improving the education of children and youth.
In the area of entrepreneurship, the Kauffman Foundation is working to further understand the phenomenon of entrepreneurship, to advance entrepreneurship education and training efforts, to promote entrepreneurship-friendly policies, and to better facilitate the commercialization of new technologies by entrepreneurs and others, which have great promise for improving the economic welfare of our nation.
